ABOUT ME

data science, data scientist, clinical data science, clinical data scientist, healthcare data science, healthcare data scientist, data, website

I am a data scientist specializing in healthcare research, leveraging expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and process improvement. I am passionate about utilizing data to improve patient care, outcomes, and overall experience in the healthcare system.
Throughout my career, I've worked in several different areas of the field, including 1) processes improvement for care delivery systems, 2) analyzing sensitive electronic medical record and medical claims data for a cross-sectional or longitudinal patient population, 3) and developing digital biomarkers from biosensor data and clinical research.
In my most recent role as a Senior Data Scientist at nQ Medical, Inc., I worked closely with the clinical team to research how motor and cognitive dysfunction due to neurodegenerative conditions affect typing. Using this research, I engineered features to develop structured keystroke biosignatures, which became inputs to a machine learning algorithm which outputs interpretable and quantifiable digital biomarkers for the identification of motoric and cognitive decline.
At the beginning of my career, for my master’s thesis, I developed several machine learning programs that helped predict the optimal time for a patient to be dis-enrolled from a diabetes chronic care management program. In my previous role as a Senior Data Engineer Associate for the athenaResearch team at athenahealth, I developed methods, extracted, and conducted rigorous analysis on data from production systems to deliver a steady stream of analyses to stakeholders that answered questions about healthcare utilization, quality, outcomes, and cost.
